ICE AUGER BLADE HINTS
- Treat your ice auger blades like there made of thin glass.
- When transporting your blades off the auger, don’t let the cutting edges hit each other, wrap them in a rag or something soft.
- When you’re finding it difficult to cut a hole in the ice or have ice build-up, don’t lift the auger up and bang it down, that will only bend the blades or blade mounts, you will need to replace the blades and or the auger.
- Have ice build-up on the auger? Take a can of silicone spray along and spray the bottom of the auger and the blades before each hole drilled.
- When the blades become dull and stop cutting, forcing the blades in the ice will not make the blades sharp and cut again. You will only possibly damage the blades beyond having them sharpened again.
- Always have an extra set of sharp blades with you on the ice.
- Enjoy and good luck! Hope these hints help!!
