Carbide Saw Blades – Attention to Detail
Face And Top Ground For Optimal Sharpness
When a saw blade arrives in the shop, we first clean the blade then exam for cracks and inspect for damaged carbide. We then sharpen the face and top of the saw blade teeth. Methodical review ensures no corrosion or burned material remains on the saw blade. When the process is complete, we package the blades between cardboard to safeguard the carbide tips. This procedure assures that no damage occurs to the saw blade between our shop and arrival at the destination.
High Grit Diamond Wheels
Utilizing high-grit diamond wheels for precision and overall maintenance creates optimal results when it comes to keeping saw blades sharpened to perfection. The appropriate abrasive grit wheel matches each type of sharpening requirement.
Chainsaw Chains
Chainsaw chains are first cleaned, then sharpened to the industry-specific tolerances. Scott’s Sharpening Service utilizes CBN-coated aluminum wheels designed exclusively for chainsaw chains. Unlike a stone wheel, the CBN wheel never loses shape. The chain receives a consistent grind throughout the sharpening process, which maintains both precise angles and defined cutter length, but eliminates burs, burnt cutters, and crooked cutting.
State-of-the art chain grinders rotate the grinding wheel clockwise for the left hand cutters and counter-clockwise for the right hand cutters. This facet also eliminates uneven cutter length, burs, and burnt cutters. Finally, a dedicated depth gauge grinder verifies every chain a proper depth gauge height which gives a proper chip size.
Our sharpening equipment incorporates operator inspection in every step and assures the chain has an optimal grind.
